B.C. Rich Mockingbird Platinum Series

Description: Features the distinctive Mockingbird body shape, a 24-fret neck. The body is agathis and the neck hard maple.

Another quite distinctive feature is its dual humbucking pickups. Other appointments include chrome hardware, an adjustable bridge, sealed tuners, 2 dome volumes and one dome tone control with 3-way switching.

I can get a lot of tonal variations on a B.C. Rich Mockingbird using the volume and tone knobs.
I , love the candy apple red finish and fast neck. My one complaint would be the fact it is neck heavy. I used a thick rough strap and now it sits decent. and of course being a Platinum series it is made overseas. I use this guitar a lot for slide playing. Click the B.C. Rich link for this and many other great values!

Son of a Rich

The majority of early B.C. Rich guitars were neck-throughs, however, some of the main models were also built with bolt-on necks. As early as 1976 or ’77,Bernie C. Rico also began to assemble some American-made economy versions of his guitars.

One of these was the Son of a Rich, which was basically a bolt-neck Bich. I have owned two of these. At least some of these had necks and bodies which were made by Wayne Charvel, who was in the parts business at the time.

The Charvel necks would be carved on his machine and sent over the the B.C. Rich factory. The necks would then undergo a final shaping to Rico’s design, and then be fitted to the bodies.

I can`t tell you how much I LOVE the neck on these guitars. Features include 2 volume knobs and one tone knob. Dimarzio pickups. They are 10% smaller than a regular Bich with 21 frets. Grover imperial tuners. My hardtail came with a Badass bridge. A Schaller tremolo and locking nut on my other.

A deep and dark tone monster I`ve found these to be well suited to jazz, country, metal or any other style of music. I`ve found the Son of a Rich a mainstay in my arsenal I`d never part with. Check out the Son of a Rich links to see if you can add one phenomenal piece of tonal art to your arsenal. An unheard of price for a hand made piece of guitar history!

American Made ST-III

I own an American made BC Rich
ST-III and I Love it!

It features a Dimarzio humbucker along with 2 single coils. I especially like the fact that each pick-up has it`s own toggle switch, combined with one volume and one tone knob, allows a wide variety of tonal possibilities.

Grover Tuners are a standard now on most all of my guitars. I love the gear ratio and they really stay in tune well.

The neck is fast with 22 frets and a nitro finish, of course nothing feels quite like a BC Rich neck.

The Ibanez licensed Floyd Rose works fabulously and I can even play in Drop D without issues.

I highly reccomend this guitar!
